So you've found a bug with Shock OS, and you'd like to report it. Reporting bugs (a.k.a. posting/submitting issues) is highly encouraged, very beneficial to the project, and may get your problem solved - if done correctly. If not, it can be a waste of time for the developers of Shock OS. Please read below before submitting a bug report:
Please check the following before continuing:
The bug you found is an actual bug, NOT a misconfiguration (changed setting). You may be experiencing difficulties because a certain setting is enabled or disabled. If you were tinkering around with the settings, then you may have accidentally changes something you didn't want to. Please double check the settings related to your issue to make sure this isn't the case.
The bug is present on the latest version of Shock OS. If you are not running the latest version of Shock OS, please test the latest release to ensure that the problem has not already been fixed. If a BETA image for the upcoming release is available, please test that. Changes made to Shock OS are incremental, and only come with new releases (see the Shock OS release cycle for more info), which essentially means that we don't back-port changes.
The bug is not a hardware problem. A good way to test this is to use another operating system on the same machine, and try to do whatever it is you were trying to do. If this works, then it is likely a bug with Shock OS. If it doesn't work on any OS you try (and its seems like it should), then it is likely a hardware problem.
If your bug meets the requirements listed above, use this outline to post an issue on the Shock OS GitHub repository:
[A title that briefly but accurately describes the issue]
ISSUE: A full description of the issue. Please include as much information as possible, and include any conditions (if, and, or, but, etc.) you notice.
HOW TO REPRODUCE:
STEP 1: Describe the steps to reproduce the issue
STEP 2: Be clear and specific
STEP 3: Once again, include any conditions (if, and, or, but, etc.) you notice.
HARDWARE INFO, LOGS, AND OTHER DATA:
Please list as much information about your hardware as possible. Things like your Pi model, hard drive specs, RAM amount, etc. are all useful. If you have any error logs or other information you think will be important, list them here.
That's it! Please remember to be polite and respectful to the developers, as we all work on Shock OS for free in our spare time. When you're ready, click the button below to go to the Issues page on GitHub, and press 'New issue' to report your bug.
