Shock OS 8.0 Holly Known Issues

Shockware Center Bugs:

• Categories are not 100% accurate (may exclude some apps in the category, thought they will still show in the 'All Applications' category).

• Descriptions are sometimes not found, even when the app has a description.

• When viewing installed APT packages, the 'Launch' button might not always work.

Custom Themes Do Not Apply to Apps Launched as Root

The Themes app installs themes in user-specific directories instead of system-wide directories. This means that root apps, such as the Shock OS Imager, do not have access to non-default themes, and will therefore revert to the Adwaita theme if a custom theme is used. THIS WILL BE FIXED IN SHOCK OS 9.0 ISSAC

Custom Themes Do Not Apply to Flatpaks

Flatpaks also need special support to match the system theme, and support for Flatpak theming will be present in the next release of Shock OS. THIS WILL BE FIXED IN SHOCK OS 9.0 ISSAC

Update Manager Bugs:

• Shows a broken page menu when more than 100 updates are available THIS WILL BE FIXED IN SHOCK OS 9.0 ISSAC

• Due to a bug in the Update Manager, all YAD processes are killed when the user logs out. In the unlikely event any apps are using YAD and do NOT want to be killed when logged out, these apps may not work as expected. THIS WILL BE FIXED IN SHOCK OS 9.0 ISSAC

Shock OS Imager Bugs:

• SD Cards are not detected, only USB drives are detected. THIS WILL BE FIXED IN SHOCK OS 9.0 ISSAC

Automatic Updates Bug:

• Automatic updates work fine under the hood, but the icon in the system tray is broken and just shows a blank image. THIS WILL BE FIXED IN SHOCK OS 9.0 ISSAC

Child Profiles

• The system currently only allows one child profile, and if you try to add more, it will give you an error saying it "Failed to create the 'shock-child' group. The program will now exit." Luckly, this bug is a simple oversight and is very easy to fix. THIS WILL BE FIXED IN SHOCK OS 9.0 ISSAC

Slideshow Wallpaper Bugs:

• Users who upgraded from Shock OS 7.0 Garret that had a slideshow wallpaper set may notice that their wallpaper no longer shuffles after the upgrade. This can easily be fixed by simply re-applying the slideshow wallpaper.
