LIGHTNING AT YOUR FINGERTIPS

Download Shock OS 9.0 Issac

The latest stable release

Designed for the Raspberry Pi 4, 400, and 5

Shock OS includes special optimizations to take full advantage of the Raspberry Pi hardware. Full KMS drivers are included, as well as other under-the-hood tweaks to boost performance. You will have no problem using your Raspberry Pi as a daily desktop computer.

Why Shock OS?

Shock OS is fast, stable, reliable, and has everything you'd expect in a desktop operating system - plus these amazing features:

Look and Feel

These features bring additional customization options to Shock OS.

Extensive Theme Support

Shock OS comes with an advanced theme engine that supports a wide range of custom GTK themes, icon themes, Metacity themes, and more! Additionally, it can auto-detect dark themes and adjust the interface accordingly, and even includes support for LibAdwaita themes! With Shock OS, you can customize and theme your desktop to your liking.

Slideshow Background Support

In addition to standard backgrounds, Shock OS includes support for shuffling through an image album to provide a beautiful slideshow background that will automatically change at a set interval.

Screensavers

That's right, Shock OS brings back screensavers! With many fancy 3D screensavers to choose from, you'll find one that makes your lock screen look nice and spicy. If you're not a fan of screensavers, you can always use a blank screen.

Panel and Desktop Icons

Through the 'Panel Layouts' and 'Desktop Icons' apps, you can manage which, or if, desktop icons are displayed, as well as choose a panel layout that fits your liking.

'Modern' (Windows 7+ style) panel layout:

'Traditional' (Windows XP / Vista style) panel layout:

Startup Sound

Shock OS lets you pick a custom startup sound, if the default thunder one is too shocking for you 😂

Useful Tools

Shock OS comes with a few tools that make everyday actions easier.

Shockware Center

The Shockware Center is a lightweight and speedy app store designed specifically for the Raspberry Pi. It's very reliable and user-friendly, and you'll find that browsing for, installing, and removing apps and games is a piece of cake.

Web Apps

Run your favorite websites as if they were apps! Shock OS comes with a web app manager that makes accessing commonly-used websites easier and better integrated with your desktop.

Parental Controls and Screen Time

Shock OS includes baked-in support for enabling screen time tracking and setting screen time limits on child profiles through the use of two apps: Parental Controls and Screen Time. The Parental Controls app allows adult users to enable/disable screen time tracking, and set daily screen time limits, for child users. Screen time limits can only be set for child profiles and will log them off when their daily allotted time has been reached. The Screen Time app allows adult users to opt-in to screen time tracking, and also allows any user to view the screen time usage of other users who have opted-in to the feature.

NOTE: Screen time limits work best on the Raspberry Pi 5, as it has a real-time clock. For older Pi models, an internet connection is required after each reboot for the system to correctly tell time and for the screen time features to work properly.
